Description

Blakely Island, a rural community of 100+ homes in the San Juan Islands, is looking for a Full-time Property Caretaker/Water Treatment Operator.  We welcome the application of Individuals who are self-motivated, mechanically minded and experienced, with good people skills, used to seasonal conditions, and who would love to live and work on an island in the beautiful San Juans of Northwest Washington.

Primary Duties

  • Maintenance and operation of water treatment facility, potable and non-potable, and pump house and distribution infrastructure, and associated maintenance logs.
  • Prior water system management a plus.
  • Washington State Water Treatment Plant Operator Level 2 required.    Water Distribution Manager licenses would be a significant plus.
  • Backflow testing experience a plus.
  • General maintenance of common area roads, runway, structures, waste and recycling equipment, and vehicles. Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of maintenance beyond individual skill level.
  • Experience in handling equipment, preventative maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mowing.
  • Compensation
    • $85,000 - $125,000 plus benefits, based on the current skills.
