Water District 19 is recruiting for an open Operator Technician position. The District would prefer to hire
for an Operator Technician 2 position, but may also consider hiring for an OIT or Level 1 position for the
right candidate, if they are able to progress to a Level 2 position in a reasonable period of time, as
determined by the District. Level 3 and 4 operators are encouraged to apply as well.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of WTPO2 and WDM2 certifications issued by the State of
Washington Department of Health or the ability to obtain within a reasonable period of time, as
determined by District 19.
Certifications from other states may be considered provided minimum experience and education
requirements meet the requirements of WAC 246-292-060 and those certifications were issued after
passing an ABC exam. Certification reciprocity would need to be completed before hire date.
The District desires all Operators to live on Island.
Operators must remain on Island at all times during their assigned On-Call rotation, which is currently 7
days (from Tuesday to Tuesday) every 3 weeks.
The District requests all employees to be fully vaccinated and willing and able to provide proof of
vaccination. The District also requests all employees to wear masks.

Water District 19 offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
2022 Salary Range
Operator in Training $21.28 to $24.19 per hour
Operator 1 (WTPO) $29.79 to $33.86 per hour
Operator 2 (WTPO) $37.24 to $42.33 per hour
Operator 3 (WTPO) $40.43 to $45.96 per hour
Operator 4 (WTPO) $42.56 to $48.37 per hour

The District is a member of the State of Washington PERS 2 or 3 retirement plan. Each program has a
specified vesting number of years and the benefit and contribution rates are set by the State.
