Highline Water District is a municipal corporation who serves potable water to approximately eighty thousand (80,000) customers in Southwest King County, WA.  Highline’s eighteen (18) square mile service area includes portions of Burien, Des Moines, Federal Way, Kent, Normandy Park, SeaTac and Tukwila, in addition to Unincorporated King County and the Port of Seattle.   The Special Purpose District is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners elected by the residents within the corporate boundary of the District.

Under general direction of the Operations Manager, the Field Supervisor provides the oversight and supervisor function for the Field Operation Crews of six (6) individuals. Incumbents in this position are responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the Field staff.  The section is responsible for utility locating, vehicle maintenance, construction, and other district needs throughout the water distribution system.

Ideal Candidate

  • Associates degree (A.A.) in a relatable field is preferred, but not required
  • Seven (7) years of experience in a medium or large water distribution system; two (2) years in a progressively responsible lead, supervisor, or manager capacity; or any combination of experience or education which demonstrates competency to perform essential job duties
  • Water Distribution Manager III and Cross Connection Control Specialist; or ability to obtain within six months
  • Working knowledge of asset management software; creating and completing work orders, performing queries, and following or establishing workflows
