Salary Range: $69,137 – $90,980 annually

We are looking for an electrician with experience in industrial, water plant, or similar settings is preferred. This person will be an integral member of the Hillsboro Water Department Operations team, working in Water Distribution, Treatment Plants and at the Barney reservoir performing electrical work, and assisting with mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, and other related tasks.
The person must be willing to work in a variety of conditions, from confined spaces, to muddy structures, and in all weather conditions. The person will work on a variety of equipment from fiber optic networking equipment, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control panels to large rotating equipment and associated MCCs and everything in-between.
In this position you will be working as an electrician at the Joint Water Commission Water Treatment Plant (JWC). The Joint Water Commission consists of four partners, City of Hillsboro, City of Beaverton, City of Forest Grove and Tualatin Valley Water District. JWC Water Treatment Plant staff are responsible for ensuring the Water Plant continues to meet system demands of the JWC partners. The plant is located in Forest Grove, Oregon and is a conventional Water Treatment Plant, capable of producing 85 million gallons a day, providing water for 400,000 people within Washington County.
General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to design, install and maintain electrical installations and related equipment. Incumbents perform journey level electrical work.

• Designs and assesses electrical solutions in compliance with legal requirements.
• Designs, installs, and maintains electrical installations, including appliances, lighting, motors, and electronic instruments, and servicing feeders and controls in various locations within the legal requirements of the NEC.
• Prepares and/or tracks various activity reports, documents, invoices, estimates and work orders. Reviews documents for accuracy and completion.
• Responds to and resolves customer complaints or issues. Provides information related to support area. Interacts with vendors and evaluates service provided and/or actions to be taken.
• Monitors inventory levels; researches supply requirements; ensures adequate resources; and initiates ordering of supplies to maintain inventory.
• Provides input, and actively participates, in Department Operations Center planning and execution of emergency response duties during emergency events.
• Position may require work be performed during extended shifts, nighttime operations, weekends, and on-call assistance.
• Manage records and information in any format, in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations and City policy, guidance and records retention schedule.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Acceptable Experience and Training
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in Electrician Technology or related field, and 4 to 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician and some supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record;
