CITY OF LACEY invites applications for the position of Civil Engineer - Utilities (2 Positions). The Civil Engineer, part of the Water Resource’s team, will work on developing solutions for diverse and challenging capital improvement utility projects. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the coordination, administration, planning, review, and management of consultants designed water, wastewater, and reclaimed water capital projects.
As a City of Lacey Civil Engineer, you will be part of the Water Resource’s team and work under the supervision of the Senior Utilities Engineer. The team includes friendly and knowledgeable fellow employees who work together to develop solutions for diverse and challenging projects. The Water Resources Division provides engineering support for the City's water, wastewater, stormwater, and reclaimed water utilities. With 20 water sources and 48 sewer lift stations, Lacey offers its engineers exposure to a wide variety of engineering disciplines, including project management, oversight, scheduling, cost estimating and planning for wells, water treatment, water tanks, and lift station consultant designed projects. Water Resources staff are dedicated to providing exceptional service to their internal customers.
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the coordination, administration, planning, review, and management of consultants designed water, wastewater, and reclaimed water capital projects. Capital projects over the last four years include eight lift station retrofits/replacements, two new water storage tanks with corresponding studies and reports, three pH adjustment water facilities, two comprehensive plans, six well rehabilitations, miles of replaced water mains, and new wastewater mains. Currently, there are over 90 projects on the Work In Progress board and an additional 90 on the future board. Upcoming projects include new and replacement water wells, lift station rehabilitations, water and wastewater main replacements, water tank replacement, treatment facility and stormwater improvements.
Position placement and pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
