Canby Utility, a public water and electric utility located 30 minutes south of Portland and serving a population of approximately 17,270 with 5,000 meters, is recruiting for a working foreman to lead its distribution crew following a retirement. This individual will perform work and oversee the work of crew members in the areas of maintenance, construction, operation, inspections, and repairs of our water distribution system. This position is physically demanding.
Job skills and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: having five years of increasing responsibility in water distribution operations, including at least two years as a foreman or lead; having a thorough knowledge of industry standards related to the installation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of water mains, valves, meters and hydrants; proficiency in use of dump trucks, heavy equipment, computer software applications, mapping systems, and other industry related tools and equipment essential to the work. The position requires an Oregon WD Certification level III. A CDL Class A is required within six months of hire. Desirable qualifications include: Cross Connection certification, forklift experience, competent person trained, and flagger certification. These desirable qualifications can be obtained after hire. This position has a 30 minute response residency requirement that must be achieved within 1 year of hire date. This position is subject to before/after normal working hours calls for emergency response.
Wage ranges between $27.64 to $34.36/Hr* DOQ.
