The Town of Cusick Public Works is currently seeking qualified candidates for two positions, full time Operator and part time, back up Operator:

JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs skilled maintenance and repair work on waste water and water system distribution and treatment facilities including but is not limited to monitoring, sampling and reporting of systems, reading of meters, mechanics, and electricity, plumbing, pumps and electronics such as line locates, maintenance and repair of booster stations and pressure reducer stations, water mains, valves, hydrants, reservoirs, meters and assemblies and pump/motors, mowing and vegetation control of
facilities, easement and right of way, vehicle maintenance and cleaning waste disposal and shop maintenance. Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner such as air compressor, mowers, weed trimmer, generator and vehicles. Performs regular, recurring and non-routine tasks to maintain water quality and service to the public. Assists with cross connection control and monitoring program.

Work hours for full time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m. Hours are from 30 to 40 hours per week and be available for emergency after hours work.

Salary range about $24 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience, more for Water Operator and less for Back up or trainee, and Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator. Additional benefits may be available after six (6) month probation period.

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience in pipeline construction or maintenance work, along with any combination of education is desirable, and/or experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.

Must be State certified as a Water Distribution Manager I, Water Treatment Plant Operator 2, and for back up at least Water Treatment Plant Operator In Training with reduced hours. Certified Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator is desired.

Must have a valid Washington State driver's license

Must have, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, a Washington State Cross Connection Specialist certification.
