The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a Water Resources & Quality Assurance Supervisor to manage, direct, plan and organize all activities related to the water quality laboratory, water quality monitoring, water quality compliance, and drinking water source protection programs, located at the Hayden Bridge Water Filtration Plant in Springfield, Oregon. The Water Resources & Quality Assurance Supervisor will plan, coordinate and oversee laboratory and water quality staff, activities and record keeping ensuring compliance with applicable water quality laws and requirements. This position also plans, coordinates and oversees all programs relating to the protection of EWEB’s sources of drinking water, which heavily rely on monitoring water quality throughout the watershed; building, maintaining, and enhancing community partnerships; and measuring protection activities’ impact on water quality.
The Water Resources & Quality Assurance Supervisor reports directly to the Water Operations Manager and oversees multiple disciplines including watershed and finished drinking water quality, laboratory, and source water protection program management. This position provides the opportunity to implement process improvements, collaborate with internal customers, contractors, and agencies, and provides leadership and direction while ensuring the workgroup is operating in alignment with the Utility’s strategies, goals, and values. The successful candidate will possess a strong supervisory background with the ability to create an atmosphere of accountability, cooperation, empowerment, and inclusiveness. In addition, the successful candidate will need to have direct experience and knowledge of the following:
- Water quality standards and ability to communicate and coordinate with compliance and laboratory staff to ensure that EWEB's water meets EPA, state, and local regulations.
- The Nelac Institute (TNI) and the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ORELAP) accreditation of laboratories analyzing water quality data.
- Developing, monitoring and advancing, programs and activities that protect water quality.
- Coordinating diverse stakeholders to achieve common source water protection goals.
The starting annual salary for this position is $92,572.26 - $123,429.54, commensurate with knowledge, skills, education and experience as it relates to the position.
