West Slope Water District has an immediate opening for a Utility Billing and Customer Service specialist. The position works under the supervision of the Finance and Customer Service Manager in a small open office of three which is also open to the counter. The position is responsible for all aspects of customer service and utility billing utilizing complex computerized systems to import meter readings and generate customer billings (Spring brook), open and close customer accounts, post all customer payments from multiple electronic and paper payment sources, monitor and collect delinquent accounts, co-ordinate shut-off process as needed, take cash, check, and credit card payments at the counter, over the phone and in person, assist customers with any needs/questions they may have, and process accounts payable and cash disbursements. Posts documents/makes updates to the District Web Site. Assists with general accounting duties.
Must have strong skills with integrated accounting systems (Springbrook highly desired), Microsoft Word, Windows, Excel, and Outlook, strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, ability to deal effectively with constant interruptions and potentially aggravated situations, strong ability to develop service-oriented relationships with District employees, customers, and all other contacts. Previous experience with utility billing preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $20.06 - $27.02 per hour ($3,478- $4,685 per month)
