The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is accepting applications to fill a Senior Accountant vacancy within the Finance Department.  The successful candidate will perform a wide array of complex accounting activities requiring an excellent grasp of accounting operations and procedures.  This individual will also perform various accounting functions as they relate to the daily operations of the Finance Department, research and prepare financial reports, provide back up to other accounting related positions, and prepare for future accounting standards and changes.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job is required for this position.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be five years of professional level accounting experience in multiple areas (AP, AR, payroll, etc.) using an automated financial management system and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.  A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.  At the least the ability to earn a CPA within two-years of appointment will be required

The hourly rate for this position is $30.60 - $41.00 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
