The City of Issaquah is seeking a skilled, innovative individual to fill the position of Street Manager in the Public Works Operations Department. The Street Manager organizes, schedules, and supervises the long-term and daily work of the Street Division, including traffic signal maintenance. The incumbent develops maintenance schedules and programs and ensures that tasks and projects are completed on time and within budget.
The Street Manager attends pre-construction meetings and provides input regarding feasibility of maintenance and projects. The incumbent develops and controls the operating budget for the Street Division. In addition, this position works with the Public Works Operations Director in coordinating departmental plans, schedules, and general administration responsibilities. The incumbent has significant interaction with peers, the public, businesses, vendors, and other City departments. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary. In addition, the Street manager directly supervises Street Division staff and has primary responsibility for developing and implementing the City's Pavement Management Program. As such, our ideal candidate has the demonstrated ability to effectively manage and provide leadership to staff, significant project management experience, the ability to analyze and organize complex projects, and experience with operations management, including budgeting and standard operating procedures.
