Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will lead design efforts and coordination of multi-discipline design teams, interact directly with clients and review agencies, mentor younger staff, and provide project management and marketing support efforts on a variety of projects. Our project managers are strong technical writers and communicators with proficiency in preparing reports and other correspondence for clients and regulatory agencies. The Project Manager will work with RH2’s managers and directors to help cultivate an open and friendly work environment, where personal and professional growth is supported and hard work is rewarded. The preferred candidate will have experience with local and regional design standards, and be able to apply those standards to design. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the mentorship and development of younger staff
  • Gather information, develop and evaluate alternatives, and prepare engineering reports and designs
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater projects or varying size and complexity, including distribution and conveyance systems, storage facilities, pump stations, supply and treatment facilities
  • Develop new relationships to expand our client base and strengthen relationships through commitment to quality and service
  • Ensure that projects are staffed with the appropriate resources and skills sets
  • Participate in identifying new project opportunities and developing winning proposals by working directly with clients, marketers, business developers, and delivery teams
  • Manage clients, project teams, project schedules, and budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (BSCE or BSME)
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, 10-12 years preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Demonstrated project management experience on multi-disciplinary municipal engineering projects including management of subconsultants
  • Experience managing municipal and public-sector projects (state, county, city and federal)
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and work within a team
  • Ability to develop productive, long-term relationships and communicate with clients, peers, multi-discipline teams, and management
  • A reputation of integrity, intelligence, and the ability to exercise good judgement

Qualifications

  • Experience managing other engineers (with strong leadership skills), interacting with clients, and coordinating with permitting agencies
  • Demonstrable success working on and managing multidisciplinary engineering projects from planning through construction
  • Experience with water and/or wastewater planning and design projects including pipelines and collections systems, pump stations, storage tanks, and treatment projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare project proposals, budgets, and invoices
  • Demonstrate high expectations for quality work products and strive to provide the best work possible
  • Exhibit commitment to providing excellent service to your team and your clients
  • Strong technical and project management skills with demonstrable proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, and, preferably, Deltek Vision
  • Interest in mentoring junior staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with multiple priorities
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, and ability to deliver quality work products and client service
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing needs and schedules
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams in multiple offices
