Located 30 miles east of Seattle along Interstate 90, the Sallal Water Association is headquartered in the City of North Bend, Washington, surrounded by stunning vistas of Mount Si and the Cascade Mountains. The Association serves roughly 5,000 residents surrounding the City of North Bend, which is a part of the historic Snoqualmie Valley. The region offers incredible sightseeing and endless outdoor recreation opportunities, including beautiful parks, fishing, birdwatching, skiing, and whitewater rafting and other activities on the famous Snoqualmie River only minutes away.


The Sallal Water Association is a nonprofit, consumer-owned cooperative which is administered by a seven-member Board of Trustees. The Association provides potable water to about 1,700 connections, and currently supplies around 190 million gallons of water each year. The Association has a 2018 budget of roughly $2 million, and staff currently consists of an interim Operations Manager, a Water System Operator, an Office Manager, an Accountant, and three on-call field crew positions. The Association also utilizes a number of consultants. The Interim Operations Manager will revert to the role of Water System Superintendent when the new General Manager is selected.


Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, the General Manager will manage the team of employees and consultants to provide technical expertise to support the requirements of planning, engineering, budget and rate development, project development, and implementation. The General Manager will also determine and provide broad-based advice on operational issues and monitor the operating and capital budget.


A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, water resources, hydrology, geology, or environmental science, and a Water System Manager credential is required. A System Manager 2 or 3 credential is preferred. 6-10 years of progressively responsible managerial experience, including supervisory and project management is required.
